Matt and I are moving on in life...
We have a plan and that plan is actually falling into place. For those that don't know - We are moving to Ogden here in the next month. We had other plans and ideas, but none of them panned out. So Matt is going to be going back to school to get certified to be a teacher and get a Master's in Education at Weber State. It would have been nice to stay in Logan, but USU's program wasn't what we were looking for.
I am actually really excited about this change!!
The only thing(s) that I will miss are my jobs and all the people at them - so I guess I will miss a lot of things or people more like it. I wish they could just all come down with me. But, I do feel like this is the right thing for us right now. Everything has been falling into place, which makes it feel good and right.
The Plan = Living with Matt's grandpa Wahlquist. He has a basement with it's own kitchen and entrance. And the rent is quite cheap - Thank you! We are excited for a kitchen that has more space and for a kitchen table. We are excited for a garden spot. We are excited to be closer to family. We are just excited!
Getting jobs for the summer: Well Matt has already got a job as well, so that's another thing that fell into place. A guy in his parent's ward needed more help with his work. So he will be starting work and moving down this next Monday actually. It's a construction type job finishing the duct systems in buildings and what not? I don't really know what he will be doing, but he is happy to be done with talking on the phone. I am still looking for jobs, but I have been given leads and help as well so we will see. My plan is to finish out the school year with my job so I don't leave them short handed and then head to Ogden then end of May. I think I might get a job working with people that are blind/visually impaired. It would be awesome to get this job because it's about a block away from where we will be living. I have applied and it sounds like they need more help so I hope that works out.
Weber State: Matt has been talking with them and figuring out when he will be able to start. He is supposed to take the GRE to get into the program, but to take it before the deadline and to able to study for it wasn't going to work out. They told him he could take a class in the summer to raise his gpa so that he wouldn't need to take it and then be able to start in the fall...but that would cost us about a 1000 or more just for 1 class. So he thought if they could wait for him to take a class why couldn't he apply and just have them wait for the gre to go through. So that is what we are doing. He has applied to the program and now he just needs to study up and take the gre. I guess we were taking the deadline too seriously. So it looks like we should be good for fall.
So that's about it. Now we are just kind of waiting for the month to pass. We will start slowly moving out and then we will begin a new chapter in our lives. I think I'm ready for it!

Spring BREAK
I made Easter Crafts (which is a pretty big deal - I am not much of a crafter)! These lovely eggs were a bit messy, but I think they turned out pretty cute. All you need is some glue, fabric floss, and some water balloons.
I got to hang out with my neice and nephew. We hung out inside for a little bit. Luke played with the sticky men on the wall and Claire got her nails sparkly. Then we went to the park, which was a blast! After that we watched some Curiuos George to cool down and rest.
I made some delicious Sugar Cookies and finally used some of the cake decorating tips that Matt got me for my birthday. (Thanks Sam for the recipe!)
The rest of my break... I did some cleaning/organizing. Matt and I went to Baby Animal Days! We saw baby bears, turtles, goats, sheep, pigs, ducks, chicks, and bunnies. Matt held a black baby mini rex just like flash. I wanted to take the little guy home so Flash could have a baby. Then we went down to see my Family - ping pong/pool tournament, chinese food, frisbee golfing, and our traditional Jesus Dinner with the whole family. We celebrated Easter day with Matt's Family. We got to do an Easter Egg Hunt & then eat dinner with the Wahlquists and go on another Easter egg hunt, where we got to moo like cows and bark like dogs. It was a good break and a good Easter!

And in the spirit of Easter and Spring time I took some pictures of Flash.

March Madness...
Matt went to Canada last week to ski. He took the week off and convinced his friend Jordan to go along with him. They went to Fernie, Kicking Horse, and Revelstoke. They had tons of fun and didn't die! ha I was in fact invited, but turned down the invite for a few many reasons (not a good skiier, don't like being cold, it would cost lots more, etc.).
While Matt was away I had fun too! I rode my bike to work everyday - thank you weather for being kind! I hung out with my friend Carlie - We made crepes one night then we went on a hike and out to dinner another. I went to Olive Garden with girls from work and then watched the 3 hour special of the Bacherlor Finale. I also painted, while I watched movies. I painted 2 1/2 paintings while he was gone. It was awsome! I also played with Flash and did some cleaning. Oh and I walked a lot. I walked to the Temple and the Library one night. Anyhow, we both had good weeks, but I'm very glad he is back and safe. I missed him!
This last one is kind of weird, not my favorite, but it was fun. I actually got part of the idea from the skirt I was wearing. So I would look down at my skirt then paint a bit and so forth.

The Paintings: This first painting is actually one I did last year for my Mom in Law. The rest are from this past week... I finished the 3rd one when he got home.

New Years to Now
On New Year's Eve we hung out with our friends Jordan & Lindsay. Our night included Little Ceasars, Monopoloy card game, Human Planet, and Fire Works!! I felt like Harry Potter bringing in the New Year with our Roman Candles (shhh..don't tell). Those things are AWESOME!! (No Pics)
I feel like the rest of January is just a blur. I did the 30 day Shred by Jillian Michaels. I felt like I was getting stronger, but that kind of died down as soon as February came. I guess the end of January is when our Car started to have troubles, which was lots of fun! We also had some snow adventures. I went snow shoeing with my friend Carlie and Matt went skiing with his brothers. I had a ton of fun snow shoeing. It was pretty hard since we decided to walk straight up the mountain, but it was worth it.
February mostly entails Valentine's Day and getting our New Car! This year for V-day we decided to go a little low key. Matt got me heart sugar cookies at his works bake sale. I gave him some candy and valentine's I made at my work. Then we decided to go to Callaways, which I guess made our night a little less low key, but at least we didn't spend lots of money on flowers.
Matt decided that he really wanted to get a Toyota 4Runner, and I liked the idea. :) He researched them and found them to be super dependable and they are great for adventuring too. So we started just looking on KSL a bunch and we found the one we wanted! I like it a lot! It looks super nice inside and out. They inside has fancy coverings on all the seats. The outside just looks nice especially for being a 1999. So I'm happy with it and still am a little giddy about having something new!

the rest of 2011
So I am horrible at this whole blogging thing. If I could I would like to blog like twice a month or at least once, but I always get behind and never seem to be able to get caught up. I finally got all our summer trips up, so now it's time for fall and winter 2011.
Fall Time - We took a drive up Logan Canyon and stopped at the Card Picnic area and few other places. So very Pretty!
October Feast/Halloween- We went up to Matt's Families cabin with some friends and had a huge feast! We had a Southern Dinner and lots of other yummy food. We also carved pumpkins, watched scary movies, and Matt tried to blow up pumpkins. It was a ton of fun and we plan on doing it every year now.
Thanksgiving - I didn't take any pictures on thanksgiving, but it was a good day. We were with my family this year. Matt and I were in charge of the potatoes. We ate food and sat around with the family. Good times.

Birthday Month - Matt had his birthday on the 1st of the month (no pictures). I think I made him a yummy cake and homemade pizza and got him a few little things. Then we decided that Flash was born on November 7th. So we celebrated her birthday by giving her a wrapped apple, which she got through pretty quick. She loves her apples! Then it was my birthday on the 20th. We went to Wingers and Matt got me some cake decorating stuff and some acrylic paints!
Happy 2 year Anniversary! - This year Matt suprised me by turning our little appartment into a fancy hotel 'La Inn De Anniversary' that's what it says on the sign. He made a red carpet, bought tons of candles, and straightened the house. When I arrived home this is what it look liked. It wasn't as dark as he hoped, but it was still pretty awesome. I was definitely suprised! It was way cute. After that we went to hamilitons and spent too much money, came back and re-lit the candles, and watched a chick flick. It was a happy anniversary! and I'm a very very lucky girl!
Christmas - We aren't the best at taking pictures, but we had Christmas with Matt's Family this year! We had Christmas Eve dinner with the Wahlquist's, talent show, and the nativity. We also watched The Muppet's Christmas Carol. On Christmas we opened some presents from his family and then we just did stocking stuffers for each other this year (yay for being cheap). We had Christmas dinner with the Haw's side of the family and then we went back to Logan were I sat around :) and Matt had to work :(. Then a week later we went down to see my family. We had a jam packed day of fun. We went bowling, out to lunch, played basketball, watched a movie, ate dinner, and opened up a few more presents. It was a fun Christmas! It's great to be around Family!
