I just feel the need for a "what's up with us?" sort of post today.
So what is up with us as of late?
Well for one thing I have a job as an Elementary School Aide. I help with recess duty, I help in a Behavior Unit, and I help some kids with reading. So there's a lot of variety to my day, which I really like. It isn't quite what I was looking for, but I am enjoying it! When I applied for the position the job title was Special Education Aide. So I was thinking more like what I have done in the past, but that's okay change is good. I really do miss my old jobs though.
My new job has really boosted my self esteem, (not that I needed a huge boost, but it's nice).Every single day a little Kindergarten girl tells me that she loves my shoes, my hair, my shirt, basically everything that I am wearing. And today a little boy said 'you look might pretty today.' Ha I love it! Some of the other kids think I am cool, because I can do a kart wheel and the monkey bars. It is so simple to prove your coolness to kids.
Matt has been working twice a week and then going to school part time. Even though he is a bit more busy than me, I am still jealous of his schedule. We both only work around 20ish hours a week, but he gets his done in 2 days. Then he only has one class on Wednesday and his other one is a online class. He gets a 4 day weekend, every weekend! I really can't complain about my schedule either though, it just sounds nice to have a 4 day weekend. :) I only work 8:30 to 1:30. It is glorious!
I have found myself addicted to many shows. I love having TV, but sometimes I wish we didn't have it. I have been watching the voice, x factor, modern family, the big bang theory, and then a bunch of shows that I don't care about that just feel in time. I think it's fine to watch a few shows, but there are some days that I come home and I find my self flipping threw channels and wasting a lot of time. So hopefully I can do something about this...maybe I can't watch TV until its 7? or something.
I learned how to can peaches. I helped Matt's Aunt do some and then I did a batch by myself. It's a lot of work, but it was fun to learn how. Matt's grandpa has two peach trees in the backyard. I just wish I loved canned peaches a little bit more. Fresh are amazing... and canned are just alright.
We had our annual October Feast with some of Matt's buddies from high school and their wives. Last year we went up to the Cabin and ate tons of food, but this year we went on a little road trip to Fort Collins, Colorado. Stan and Chelsey moved their earlier this year. It was a bit of a drive, but it was a lot of fun! We ate delicious food, played frolf and volleyball, explored down town, went to an awesome candy and soda shop (where I got some Harry Potter butter beer, yum), and just hung out. It was a fun fall break!
I am finally about recovered from my lovely whooping cough... I guess it's been about 3 months now. I'm doing pretty good now, but it's been a long time since I have felt 100%. The part that has been most frustrating for me is that I want to exercise, but I can't (at least not hard) because I go into a coughing fit. So because of that I have felt a little depressed, which kind of makes me want to eat the world.. So eating bad and not exercising makes you gain weight! :) duh. Then I have Matt who just from his job without working out or changing eating habits has lost 20 lbs. Not Fair!
On a good note. We got 7 pumpkins from our garden! I am excited to do some carving here in a few days. I am also getting excited for actual Halloween, Birthdays, Thanksgiving, Our Anniversary, and Christmas! They are all right around the corner. I think I am going to be a Clown for Halloween (not a creepy one). I found 2 clown costumes in Grandpa's Halloween stuff. So... we will see if I can convince Matt to be one too.
So that's all I got for now.
