Buckskin Gulch

Our next adventure was Buckskin Gulch.
Buckskin Gulch (near Kanab,UT) is one of the longest and deepest slot canyons in the world!

We wanted to go on one more trip with Cameron before he left on his mission and this was it. We (Me, Matt, Kyle, and Cameron) drove out and camped the first night at the place where we would be ending our hike. We explored a little there, made dinner, and then went to bed. The next morning our shuttle guy (whom was very interesting) came to pick us up and drove us to the beginning of our hike.

Buckskin Gulch
As you will see this canyon is quite SPECTACULAR! It was really cool how the walls of the slot changed from turn to turn.
See that log? That's from a Flash Flood! I was pretty terrified that I was going to die on this trip. Good thing there was no rain in the forecast.

We hiked the first day about 13 miles or so (it seemed like a lot longer). We finally made it to the trees where we camped. It was pretty neat to see a bunch of green trees in the middle of this long walk between 2 rocks. The next day we hiked another 12 miles. It was really only supposed to be 7 or so, but we took a wrong turn (it was the only turn we needed to take and the only turn in the whole slot ha ha)! We think some of our mileage info we had was a little off so we didn't think the turn would be so soon.

We made it out of the Buckskin Gulch alive!
